Saving Batman

Given how popular Batman is today, you might be surprised by how close he came to oblivion. By the early 1960s, the character was on life support, with comic sales so poor DC Comics was planning to kill off Batman for good. It would take an unlikely hero to save the Caped Crusader — an Omaha native and Jesuit novitiate dropout who didn’t even like comic books.  
Our hero? William Dozier, Law’31, PhB’32, creator (and narrator) of the 1966 Batman TV series. Read more.

John Anwar, MD — assistant professor at the School of Medicine in Phoenix — was installed as the holder of Creighton’s 45th endowed chair. In his role, he will lead an enterprise that’s transforming the quality of care for underserved populations in the Valley. Read more.

The Heider College of Business has renamed its Institute for Economic Inquiry for the John and Fay Menard family. The Menards, founders of a namesake home improvement chain, provided philanthropic support to expand the institute’s programs, reach and impact. Read more.
