Meet John Orr '68
Current town: Palm Coast, Florida, and Stratford, Connecticut.
Education: B.A. Psychology, Central College
About me: Growing up in West Chester, Iowa, a town of 250 people, made everything beyond seem big. When reviewing colleges to attend, I felt the University of Iowa was too big and for me, Central had the right feel. Once I applied and was accepted, I did not apply anywhere else. Today, I am often asked how a small-town-kid from Iowa turned school teacher could go on to have a successful career in the television industry in New York City, which invariably leads to the question, "Where did you go to college?" I proudly answer, "Central College, Pella, Iowa.
