Safety & Health for Ag Women
Agriculture is one of the most dangerous occupations in the US due to the use of heavy machinery, work with animals, and potential exposure to various chemicals and gasses such as herbicides, insecticides, and manure.

Over 30% of farm operators in the United States are women, and there are another countless number of women on farms performing the day to day tasks on those farms from managing and care taking animals, using equipment, and conducting agronomic work.  Farm women have unique challenges and risks regarding agriculture safety and health that their male counterparts may not.  Find out more about the risks farm women face and practices they can do to minimize on-farm accidents.

Small Savings Build Big Dreams
When should you start saving for your child’s post high school education? While it’s never too late to start saving, the answer is the sooner the better! Research shows that even having as little as $1 to $500 set aside for future education, encourages a child to do better in high school, makes them three times more likely to enroll in a higher education program, and four times more likely that they will graduate from that program. These are big impacts from small dollars!
Join Extension Educators, Amy Mangan-Fischer and Carol Bralich, on Thursday, October 27th, regardless of where you are on the savings journey for your child’s post-high school education. The session will include information on the costs of higher education, ways to pay for higher education, and tips on how you can get started saving.
