T-Birds Helping T-Birds
Join other T-Birds across generations and around the world to demonstrate there's nothing we can't do when we soar together. The TBIRDSTRONG campaign is more than 120 donors strong and growing, but we need your help to unlock a $7,000 challenge gift from Dominion Energy. All funds raised will support students who are experiencing financial hardships because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Wyatt Offers Encouragemetn to Graduating Class
Pres. Wyatt Offers Encouragement to Class of 2020
On what should have been our commencement day, President Scott Wyatt offered this message to graduates: “Sunrise always follows darkness.” Like every university in Utah and throughout the United States, SUU was forced to postpone the spring commencement ceremony because of the outbreak of COVID-19. Our commencement celebration is tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Fall 2020 Scholarship Application Deadline Extended
Academic Scholarship Application Deadline Extended
SUU has extended the date to apply for academic scholarships for the Fall 2020 semester to June 1 to help new students impacted by COVID-19. Extending the date gives students who were planning to attend SUU in the Fall semester more time to apply for academic scholarships. It also applies to potential students who returned early from religious missions or delayed entry into the military or service programs options to begin achieving their higher education goals sooner than anticipated.

Kiana Stoker Wins People's Choice Award
Student Earns People's Choice Award at Entrepreneurship Challenge
Kiana Stoker may not be a business major, but her real-life business experience helped her rise to the top of the Opportunity Quest Business Model Competition, earning her $6,000 in prize money and the People’s Choice Award at the Utah Entrepreneurship Challenge. Kiana's business, Reece & Co, makes accessories for home and bags. Thank you to everyone who voted!

SUU and President Wyatt Named Best of State
For the third straight year, our alma mater was named the Best Educational Institution in Utah while SUU President Scott Wyatt was named Best College/University administrator. “SUU being named the best educational institution for the third straight year is a testament to the faculty, staff, students and alumni who have such a passion and extraordinary level of commitment to our University. Even with these uncertain times, this is an award we can all celebrate,” said President Wyatt.

May 13: Zoom Conversation with Alumnus Dr. Jarid Gray, 4 p.m. MDT via Zoom. Dr. Gray was part of a contingency of Intermountain Healthcare Professionals who traveled to the Big Apple to assist New York City's front-line hospitals in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. During this virtual event, Dr. Gray will share what he experienced and learned, as well as his thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic. Watch here or add this event to your calendar.

Navajo Nation Service Opportunity: 
The Navajo Nation is being hit hard by COVID-19 and there are many ways for volunteers to help through the donation of gloves, homemade face masks, sanitizer, water, nonperishable food and household items. Learn more about the Navajo needs and how you can help.
