Congratulations to our first cohort of SDG Futures Fellows!

The first group of SDG Futures Fellows closed out their fellowships in late April, having completed a year-long series of trainings on the SDGs, leadership and professional development. These 27 students from 9 Greater Atlanta Higher Education Institutions formed teams to complete projects with local civic, nonprofit and entrepreneurial partners. You can read this article about the three fellows from Kennesaw State University, and this one about one group's work from their partner business, Karmalize, in addition to our overview of the program linked below.

You can also hear more about the SDG Futures Fellows from Adair Garrett, a Georgia Tech graduate student who joined us on our podcast, Global Goals, Greater Atlanta, to discuss her experience as a Fellow. Adair was on the team that assisted the City of Atlanta with its first Voluntary Local Review of key metrics for several of the SDGs.

Together they will break information silos through information sharing focused on identifying solutions to heal and improve the environmental health of all Georgians.
At Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, this daylong conference is focused on what can be done *right now* to work with communities to move the needle on addressing environmental impacts on health. How can we measure success so that these immediate actions are sustained?

Generation Connect: Teen Service Camp

July 17 - 21, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. E.T.
Through a special partnership between A.G. Rhodes, a nonprofit nursing home provider, and Pebble Tossers Inc., a nonprofit youth service organization and family volunteering resource, selected volunteers are paired with elders at A.G. Rhodes to gather and record oral histories, spend time and develop relationships across different generations. The goals of camp are to build and strengthen connections between people, to teach the value of listening, and introduce youth to career development opportunities in the fields of: healthcare, elder care, administration.
Throughout this week-long program, campers will spend one-on-one time with elders to gain insight about their backgrounds, hobbies and preferences. Not only will teens learn about extraordinary life experiences and historical events, but the information they collect will be used to tailor meaningful activities and provide more personalized resident care.
Campers will also be provided valuable training with a Volunteer 101 Workshop and an introduction to "Eden Apprentice" education, which helps participants see aging in a new light.
