July President’s Message

We held the June 11th Annual Membership Meeting at our old home, the Blinn House, and we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting our meetings and new member screenings there.

I am excited to take on the role of Interim Acting President and I am working with the Board and our volunteers over the summer to re-energize Pasadena Society of Artists as we come out of the pandemic.

You can look forward to seeing our new PSA logo design and our redesigned newsletter soon. We will be publishing art related opportunities and events: paint/sculpt/photography events, reintroducing a Call for Artists section in the Newsletter, art swap events, and more.

And we introduced a new raffle MINI-GRANT for members at each member meeting - a $100 cash award to be used for art-related enrichment (art supplies, workshops, etc.).   The winners will return within 3 months to tell us how the funds helped to enhance their creative process.  The winner at the June meeting was Chris Moore – Congratulations Chris! Our next Mini-Grant will be raffled off at the September Member Meeting.

The Summer Party will be on August 13th at Rhonda Raulston’s home in Altadena. Mark your calendar. Details soon.

Vic Picou will continue to coordinate the monthly Salons.  If you are interested in hosting a Salon, please contact Vic at vicpicou@icloud.com

We welcome your suggestions and your helping hands.

NEXT MEETING: There is no member meeting in July, but we will hold a Board Meeting at the Blinn House on August 13th from 10:00 – Noon.  Members are welcome to attend.

I want to thank all of you so very much for hanging in there with your PSA Board.  I’m looking forward to seeing each and every one of you at a future event.  I am always available at kds4psabiz@gmail.com

Off the Wall
Here’s the latest from the Exhibition Committee.

We have three exhibitions coming up:
Juried Open Exhibition - gallery selection is ongoing so the take in is dependent on the venue dates.
Photography/Digital Art Exhibition.  Take in in September.

REMINDER:  Artist’s Choice Exhibition is coming soon (take in mid to late August), so spend some time in your studio creating art for all three upcoming exhibitions.

Consider volunteering for a future exhibition. Ask about opportunities at Exhibitions@PasadenaSocietyofArtists.org
See you at the next exhibition.
