“Biodiversity Days highlights the diversity of education, research and action underway across the UBC Vancouver community and our region,” says student event co-chair Alex Wong. “This annual event aims to bring attention to the UN International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22 and the landmark agreement adopted by nations at COP-15 in Montreal this past December.”
Biodiversity Days 2023 will feature events for individuals and the whole family. From family nature walks to student-led research showcases, bird and bat walks to pressed plant workshops, everyone is invited to learn about biodiversity, get outside and take action to preserve our natural world.

Biodiversity Days is hosted by UBC Botanical Garden in collaboration with SEEDS Sustainability Program and Climate Crisis in Urban Biodiversity Initiative (CCUB). This year's events feature family nature walks, a student research to action showcase, tree and bird tours, citizen science experiences, virtual events, practical workshops and more. Biodiversity Days is made possible with funding provided through the UBC Botanical Garden Community Outreach Fund and with funds from the SEEDS Sustainability Program.
