What a year we're all having together! 2020 is clearly full of culture shifting events and new ways of being in community together...and apart. I hope you have all had a healthy and safe summer, and that you've been able to enjoy being outside. We are about to begin a new school year together in a unique and unusual way. But we will do it...with positivity, grace, enthusiasm, and support!
We all want what is best for our children, community, and families...so this is our challenge. I am so proud of the tireless efforts of the Commodore and BISD staff who have helped to prepare for this school year. Reorganizing a total system that is based on human interaction and shared spaces into a distance learning environment is no small task. You will see improvements in our websites, online teaching tools, Google Classrooms, engagement strategies with students, and consistent expectations. We are here to support our students, families, and staff.
You will be hearing from your child's teacher soon to welcome them to a new school year together. We will continue to prioritize our Commodore K-12 community building strengths and positive relationships with our students and new families.
I am grateful that our COS K-12 programs are a good fit for so many BISD families. Our Mosaic program has doubled in size and we are working to support as many families as possible. We will also be supporting the new 1/2 Online classroom with teacher, Amy Smith. A lot of change, but we are in this together and as a supportive community, we can do this!!! I look forward to connecting with all of you soon.
Thank you for your support, continued patience, understanding, and commitment to TEAM COMMODORE! More details coming soon!
