I really _____ you.

MadLib Valentines! First, ask your Valentine to send you the words you need to fill in your Valentine MadLib cards below without telling them what they’re for. Save or screenshot the image of blank card and fill in the words they give you (you can do this in your phone’s photo editor, but it’s easiest to do it in IG stories and save a copy). Send it to them and wait.

Let’s talk about something really romantic.

It’s time for vaccine class! Hopefully you know some senior citizens or other people who really need it who have gotten the vaccine. So are we running over to hug them as soon as they leave their second appointment? No! It takes some time for the vaccine to get in the zone. In the meantime, here are some other things to know about before someone gets vaccinated.

MYTH: I will immediately be immune after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
FACT: Immunity doesn’t happen immediately. You’re going to need to let the vaccine mellow for at least two weeks to be effective.

MYTH: I don’t need to wear a mask and avoid close contact with others once I have received both doses of the vaccine.
FACT: That day is coming! It really is, we’re but not quite there yet. Even after you get the vaccine, it’s possible to develop mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 and spread it. It’ll take a while for most people to be vaccinated, so you should still wear a mask, wash your hands often and social distance for now.

See more about the vaccine in this Mythbusters document.

Did you get an invite?

The Healthy Minds Study about Ole Miss mental health services was sent on Monday, Feb. 8 to a random sample of about half the student body. If you got an email from healthyminds-olemiss@umich.edu, you were chosen (randomly) to make your voice heard (anonymously) about mental health support. Here’s an article about the survey and here’s the webpage for it.
To be real, we know that most people could benefit from some mental health support, even if it’s just talking to a friend. If you’re invited to take this survey, you get to help Ole Miss figure out how to best provide mental health support to you, your friends and to future students. So do it to it, and thank you 💙.

You get a hat, you get a hat! Everybody who gets tested gets a hat!

Location change: Asymptomatic testing will now be walk-in testing at the University-Oxford Depot. More info is here.

Eyes on the prize: New incentives for getting tested include Ole Miss trucker hats, Ole Miss beanies and the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship, AirPods or a Rec Center membership while supplies last.

Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 1-5 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. But you can go to the testing site any time on any day during the week when you schedule your test.

How to get your results: Create a Sonic MyAccess account to receive your results, which should come back within 24 hours of your test. For questions about how to see your results, visit this webpage or call 877-277-6642.

Schedule your test: Text “2020” to 833-991-3009 or click here to make an appointment. Fill out the intake form and bring your confirmation number and your Ole Miss ID to your test any time during testing hours that week.
