BHS COVID Guide for Singers

Our Interim Guidance for BHS Singing Ensembles is being regularly updated, and includes background information around COVID-19, discusses how the choral ecosystem has responded in light of the science behind the virus, guidance for all singing communities, including quartets and choruses, and considerations around insurance.
We are all wondering when we might be able to safely sing together again. Just as we understand that voices united in song can make a positive and meaningful impact on ourselves and those around us, we should also recognize that we must work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

For decades, our chapters have considered themselves 'performing ensembles', meaning they stand on stage and perform for an audience while the audience sits in seats and applauds for the chorus.
While this model has been successful for many of our chapters, we’re going to explore the unique benefits of evolving our mindset to think of ourselves as a 'community asset' that specializes in the intrinsic benefits of singing together in harmony, helping you to reach broader audiences and increase community relevancy.

Pick of the Week
Life’s Essential Element

This “fan favorite” premiered at our 2019 International Convention in Salt Lake City. This shirt, and it’s co-starring Ladies Racerback Tank and Stickers, dazzled audiences when they premiered.
Bold and colorful, this tee boldly proclaims “I’m proud to be a barbershop nerd, and I love barbershop harmony!"

Into the Unknown (from Frozen 2)

arr. Deke Sharon & David Wright
One of two brand new charts premiered by the 2020 BHS Everyone in Harmony Virtual Chorus, this soaring arrangement from Deke Sharon and David Wright delivers all the adventure and power of the original recording from Disney/Pixar’s Frozen 2 in spectacular 4-part barbershop/a cappella style!
