Greetings from the University Staff Advisory Council!

April Meeting Highlights

  • After a historic investiture weekend, Chancellor Diermeier joined us as our keynote speaker. He expressed gratitude and appreciation for staff members for the hard work he has seen over the past two years. Vanderbilt is in the strongest position it has been coming out of the pandemic, and staff enables faculty and students to do their best work.
Chancellor Diermeier discussed The Vanderbilt Way highlighting an emphasis on belonging and continued growth with a commitment to ongoing learning. As a Vanderbilt community, the Chancellor wants to push us to grow, to thrive, and to develop our potential through Radical Collaboration.
He hopes that we will be ambassadors for Vanderbilt to recruit great talent to continue to grow, while highlighting the University’s commitment to staff.

  • Emi Horii from Experience Vanderbilt, a student-led, university-supported initiative that provides undergraduate students who qualify for need-based financial aid with funding for extracurricular activities that have fees, shared ways staff can get involved and support this group, including spreading the word about the application process which ends April 30 this year.

  • MoveVU created a fun video featuring Mr. C that highlights the easy steps to using the WeGo Public Transit bus system, and there is a new webpage with detailed information about riding the bus. Remember, ALL VU community members can ride the bus for FREE!
