MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Sakai Families,

Last week's tragic car accident that took the lives of three Bainbridge teenagers has been devastating for our community. Marina, Hazel and Hannah were beloved Sakai students not long ago, and are remembered fondly by all who knew them. This week, we pay tribute to the three lives lost by hanging a white ribbon in remembrance. Our entire staff wish to send our deepest condolences to their families and those impacted by their tragic loss.

Our Bainbridge Island community is close and this tragedy is felt deeply by so many of us. Together, we will be watching our students closely as they process their feelings to ensure they get the care and emotional support they need. If you are looking for grief resources to help at home, Bainbridge Youth Services has compiled a comprehensive list of various mediums. And, please know you can always reach out to us if your child needs any additional resources. We are here for you and your child.

MATH ADOPTION SURVEY
Dear Families,

We are currently in the process of selecting a new mathematics curriculum for our BISD students in Kindergarten-5th Grade. This new curriculum will be implemented in the 2021-22 school year along with continuing professional development. In an effort to best serve all our students your input is necessary in this process. If you have more than one child attending Kindergarten-5th grade, please feel free to complete separate surveys for each child.  We appreciate your time and value your input. Thank you!

Gracias.
