It's July which means.........

Happy 4th of July- and welcome to a busy Montana summer!
We have a ton of things going on throughout our area.  Lots of folks returning to Paradise Valley for the season, a kick-a** rodeo in Livingston starting today and finishing up on the 4th.  Did we mention the fishing?  We are just days away from really getting our summer groove on the mainstay of our area- the Yellowstone! And it's that time of season when it seems that just about all the other Montana rivers and streams are producing, too.  The Gallatin, Madison and Missouri Rivers are fishing well. The Park is coming on strong and will be great the remainder of the season. Paradise Valley spring creeks have excellent PMD hatches.  Picture yourself under a beautiful 80 degree sunny Montana sky, floating down the Yellowstone (insert river of choice...) casting big, bushy dry flies to rowdy rainbow and burly browns.  What could be better?  That's what we're doing . . .Where are you?
Email  or call us with questions or ideas about a summer adventure here in Southwest Montana.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Words from a Father
We have had a great spring this year!  Even when our home river -the Yellowstone- running high and muddy as it typically does May & June, we're fishing with guests all over the area.  One of the great locations to fish is the Story Ranch.  We thought you might like to read this testimonial:
"Just wanted to let you know I took my 7 year old son, Alex, with us to fish with Jeff Welke on Story Lake.  Alex has been around saltwater fly fishing his whole life, but has not attempted fly fishing till this point as it's often too challenging in the salt.  Well, look at the result of his first trip!  Jeff did an amazing job, as always, and Alex will always have that memory of his first first fish on fly.  Thank you all so much!"   ~ J. Bowles, Sarasota, Florida
Bins, Bins, and more Bins!  Angler's West Fly Dept Redesign
This spiring we've undertaken a pretty major in house facelift and revamped the fly department area.  We added multiple additional fly bins (we now have over 1500 total catchy fly pattern recepticles!!!), repositioned them into the perfect viewing arena which makes for a roomier shopping experience.  Stop in, peruse, gawk, or simply stock up on all the hot new patterns.  Be sure tell us what you think!
For the Angler who thinks they have everything
The Fly Twister - This is a handy tool that is used for picking up flies from your fly box.  Also holds a fly securely while you tend to knots, etc.  Attach it to a retractor for easy accessibility.
Did You Know:  Here's a Montana Fact...
The Roe River is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's shortest river. The Roe flows 200 feet between Giant Springs and the Missouri River near Great Falls. This river has been measured on different occasions, with lengths varying from 58 feet to 200 feet. The source of the Roe River, Giant Springs, is the largest freshwater spring in the United States.
