It is the midst of summer and I hope you are finding fun ways to stay cool. As we prepare for the start of the fall semester next month, join me in welcoming Michael Amiridis, our new president of the University of South Carolina and his lovely wife, Ero Aggelopoulou-Amiridis as our new first lady, who is herself an alumna of the university. We wish them immense success as they help to lead our university and look forward to the exciting chapters that lay ahead.

Gamecock alumni receive top honors at SCPhA Convention

At this year's convention, Gamecock Pharmacy alumni swept many of the association’s top honors for their contributions to the profession of pharmacy in South Carolina.

UofSC now offering COVID-19 saliva testing to the public

The Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory in the College of Pharmacy is now offering its quick, noninvasive COVID-19 saliva testing to the public. No appointment or referral required.

• August 11-12, 2022: The Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center at UofSC College of Pharmacy will offer an Aseptic Technique Training Course for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Register by August 1 to earn 16 hours of live CE credit.
   
• August 19, 2022: The College of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony will be held on August 19. Want to welcome the Class of 2026 to our pharm-ily? Sponsor a White Coat for $45. 
   
• February 3, 2023: Mark your calendars for the Virtual Pharmacy Career Expo on February 3. Whether you are a new graduate or seasoned alumni, we would love to have you participate and speak with students about your career path.
