Experience Classic American Autumn Activities

Hayride, corn maze, cow feeding, pumpkin carving, bonfire, s'mores, farmers market and more. Join the bus trip to Butterfield Farms (10 minutes from campus) on Saturday, October 22 from 2:30 to 5:00pm to take part in these U.S. cultural classics.
This is a family-friendly event; children of international students and scholars can participate for free. Cost for the trip to Butterfield Farm is $8 and includes: transportation, bonfire, s'more ingredients, hayride, cow feeding and pumpkin carving equipment. (Please note: Those interested in carving a pumpkin will need to purchase a pumpkin, $5-$10, on their own. There is also a $5 corn maze for anyone who is interested.) All activities are optional.

Considering an internship as an international student?
ISSS staff will present info about Curricular Practical Training (CPT): what is CPT, how and when to apply for CPT, and other considerations fo off-campus work authorization during your studies.
This info session will be offered via Zoom on October 25 from 1:30-2:30 pm.
Please register for this session in advance and bring questions you have about CPT!

Mid-term grades should now be viewable in BannerWeb. If midterm grades are not available in BannerWeb for a particular course, check Canvas to review your grades. If you have questions or concerns about your academic progress, reach out to your professor and take advantage of academic support resources like the Rinella Learning Center or English Language Learner Writing Center.

Global Friendship Thanksgiving Dinner Is Back!
Returning after a two year hiatus, the Global Friendship Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on the evening of Thursday, November 17. This event is an opportunity for international students and scholars to experience a traditional American holiday and engage in meaningful interaction and friendship with community members and Miami faculty and staff.
Classic Thanksgiving food will be served along with other fun and activities. Cost to attend: $7 per person for 1-2 ticket(s); $6 per person for 3 or more tickets; children under 10 years old are free.
