| Member Reservation Update |
Spring is an extremely popular time to visit our Gardens. So we may provide an extraordinary experience for our Members and guests, throughout Spring Blooms (April 1–May 7), Members will require timed reservations when visiting Thursday–Sunday from open to close.
Looking to visit early in the day? We’re so pleased to offer a special morning hour for Members from 9–10 am every Saturday and Sunday throughout Spring Blooms (April 1–May 7). Timed Member reservations are still required during this morning hour for Members, but our Gardens will be available only to Members during that time.
Please note: Spring Blooms reservations, including our Spring Blooms morning hours for Members, are not required for Gardens Premium Members and Innovators. Reservations are limited, so please plan ahead.

Longwood Reimagined Continues |
We are excited to share another milestone in our Longwood Reimagined project! Last week we began installing the 1,958 panes of glass that will make up the roof and sides of our new West Conservatory! To ensure the optimal light level for the health of the plants that will call the Conservatory home, we are using a low-iron, ultra-flat laminated glass that reduces reflectance and increases the amount of full-spectrum light that will be transmitted into the building. As part of the West Conservatory’s design, most of the panes are unique in size and shape, with the largest measuring 4 feet by 20 feet. In all, the glasshouse will feature more than 424 operable windows in the roof and the walls. And, to ensure the wellbeing of our feathered friends, the vertical glass walls will have a specially selected dot-frit pattern to protect birds from the ultra-clear glass.
Want to learn more about this expansive project? Register for an upcoming virtual Longwood Reimagined Member Talk on February 2 at 6 pm.

Explore the Science of Beauty |
This winter, join us for our new Science Saturdays! During each of these three offerings, learn about one of our many plant research and conservation projects and meet the talented staff behind the work.
Join us in our Conservatory Ballroom on January 21 at 1 pm for our first Science Saturday, as Associate Director of Land Stewardship and Ecology Dr. Lea Johnson explores how Longwood stewards a rich variety of natural habitats beyond the boundaries of our formal gardens, and how patterns in the landscape reveal both history and potential futures for biodiversity.
Registration is not required for our Science Saturdays; reservations are not required for Members throughout Winter Wonder. Additional Science Saturdays are February 18 and March 18.
