On and Off Campus

114 Years of Kent

Last week Kent began its 114th year as students from 29 states and 38 countries moved onto campus and started classes. More photos from move-in week are available here.

Alumni Spotlight

Justin Shugrue '13

Justin Shugrue '13, a New York native, is using his finance degree from Southern Methodist University to bring NYC style kettle-boiled bagels to Dallas, Texas. He plans to open Shug's Bagels in late 2019 or early 2020. Read more about his entrepreneurial venture on the Dallas News.

Carolina Paiz '98

Carolina Paiz '98 is a film and television writer, but most recently was the executive producer for Netflix's hit show Orange Is the New Black, which just concluded with a powerful seventh season.

Chris Zimmerman '77

Chris Zimmerman '77, President and CEO of Business Operations for the St. Louis Blues, is seen here hoisting the Stanley Cup following the storybook finish to the Blues' 2019-20 championship season.  This marks the second consecutive year that an NHL President and Kent alumnus claimed arguably the world's most famous sports trophy.  Last year Dick Patrick '64 and the Washington Capitals achieved the same distinction.  Along with David Quinn's '84 appointment as head coach of the New York Rangers last year, Kent is well represented in the NHL front offices.

Appreciation for Headmaster Dick Schell '69

So that the Kent School community might demonstrate our collective appreciation for the leadership of Headmaster Dick Schell, the Alumni & Development Office is asking Alumni to send us their personal notes of appreciation. Our office will be creating a memory book which we will present to the Headmaster on the occasion of his retirement.

Additionally, Kent's Archivist, Katy Armstrong, is creating a special tribute for the Headmaster in the School Library. She is requesting that you send to her any photos that you have of yourself with the Headmaster.

We have created a special email address to receive your notes and photos:
