Doors will open at 5:30pm and we are suggesting staggered arrivals based on the times below. For families with kids in multiple grades, please just decide which start time works best for your family!

5:45pm - 2nd through 4th grade

We have a packed agenda and will be joined by some guests from MNPS and our local legislators to discuss feedback on the LEA Plan and advocacy efforts regarding the 3rd Grade Retention Law. Mrs. Stein’s 4th grade class will be holding their annual Book Drive from Feb. 17-March 3rd. Julia Green Hornets LOVE to show that they care about others. This is a great way to bring awareness to the needs in our community and how easy it is for everyone to make a difference.  
The collected books will be donated to Book ‘em, a non-profit organization that creates a more literate Nashville by helping economically disadvantaged children in Davidson County discover the joy and value of reading through book ownership and enthusiastic volunteers.
There will be collection bins in the JG lobby starting on February 17th. We can only accept NEW OR LIKE-NEW CHILDREN’S BOOKS.  Most needed are books for 1st through 4th graders.
WE CANNOT ACCEPT: Textbooks, Discarded Library Books, Reference Books, or Books that are Overly Worn, Torn or In Generally Poor Condition.
Thank you so much for helping support this important local cause!
Our teachers and faculty ROCK! Did you know we surprise the teachers each month with a special treat on the Happy Cart? From Chick Fil A to coffee spreads to plants to take home, and all the treats in between! Our teachers and faculty are #1 and we strive to make them feel our gratitude!
We want to spotlight Michelle Wong and Elizabeth McCostlin, our JG garden experts! We have a deep gratitude for Michele and Elizabeth for keeping our garden growing. Our garden serves as a learning tool for our children, an outdoor classroom and so much more. Grade levels have grown their own veggies/herbs, cared for the chickens and learned so much about environmental stewardship through engagement and hands on gardening. This could not be possible with our Michelle, Elizabeth and Ms. Miley’s research, time and attention to our special garden. Please join us for some spring cleaning love this Friday, 3:15!
