Dear Class of 2026 & Transfers,

We hope you're well and have had a chance to take a look at this year's "Three Books" theme of Biodiversity!
This week, we're excited to begin introducing you to our Community Coordinators who will work with the NSO team to help you connect with our many vibrant communities at Stanford. Start off by getting to know Sandi (Asian American New Student Orientation Committee) and Faith (Chicanx/Latinx Orientation Committee, pictured above).
And, read on in the Newsletter for:
  • OC Zone - blog posts, Zoom Lounge drop-ins, and new student outreach
  • Advising Corner - Academic Advising Newsletter preview, and
  • Quick Links - important dates & deadlines and resources.
Have a great week, and, as always, let us know if you have questions or want to talk!

Advising Corner: Advising Newsletter #2 Preview

Hello, Class of 2026 and Transfers! How has your last week been? Have you read something fun? Watched something amazing? Had a successful day at work? Taken some time to relax? We, your Undergraduate Advising Directors (academic advisors), are so excited to hear about what you have been up to. So as you are thinking about questions that you may have for us when you meet us in August, don’t forget that we want to get to know you, too!
In particular, we very much want to know about your academic questions and your academic goals. And this leads us to our next Academic Advising Newsletter, which will be sent later this week. Here, we will be sharing with you some of the many resources (in addition to your UADs) that Stanford has to help you get the most out of your undergraduate experience. We will tell you about our wonderful website, some of the support resources that can help with your writing and problem sets (aka "psets"), the various requirements that you will ultimately need to fulfill for your Bachelors degree, and much, much more.
There will be a lot to read and learn about for sure. But please don’t feel like you need to learn it all now. We will remind you about these resources later this summer when you meet your UAD, when you arrive at Stanford, and throughout your time as an undergraduate here on the Farm. See you later this week for the Advising Newsletter #2!
