   WE CARE
Our UNT community has long prided itself on the caring environment we create for each other and our students. Many faculty and staff believe this is at the core of who we are as a university and strive to live that caring value in everything they do every day to help students succeed. So, it was no surprise that We Care emerged as one of five shared values that the UNT System is rolling out for all of our system schools – including UNT – to guide the way we do business as a university.
“Being helpful.” “Caring about what that person next to you cares about.” “Being kind and empathetic even when it is hard.” “Understanding everything we do is for our students.” Our UNT community members had dozens of examples of how we show that we care. Watch a video featuring our community members sharing what We Care means to them.

Next week, we will focus on Be Curious. Stay tuned.

   RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS
Kindness costs nothing but can mean everything to others we encounter. While Feb.17 is singularly dedicated to spreading kindness, here is something you can incorporate into your regular routine.
  • Grab a piece of paper – write down your name and the name of someone you know, then leave a blank space to represent a stranger.
  • During the upcoming week, do something kind for each person on your list. It could be anything. Maybe it’s treating yourself to something you love, raking your neighbors’ leaves or complimenting someone you don’t know.
   COMING UP
Here's a snapshot of campus happenings this week. Please check the UNT Calendar for updates and the status of all events or contact the event organizers for details.
