This Fair Housing Month marks 57 years since the Fair Housing Act was signed into law, outlawing discrimination in housing.

At Habitat Orlando & Osceola, we are driven by a vision where everyone has an affordable place to call home, a stable foundation that fosters health, opportunity, and progress for all.

Two hundred Central Floridians are now better prepared for future disasters!

We recently finished distributing 200 resilience kits containing preparedness and maintenance items, including a first aid kit, tarp, solar charging power bank, basic tools, an emergency weather radio, shop vac and more. The kits were funded through Habitat for Humanity’s long-term disaster recovery program supported by The Home Depot Foundation.

The kits were handed out at our Disaster Preparedness, Home Insurance and Home Maintenance classes. The kits and classes are part of our mission of creating a more stable, resilient community.

Tuesday, April 22, is Earth Day, and to celebrate we want to encourage you to have an impact not only on our Central Florida community, but the world by donating your old vehicle!

Cars recycled properly can play a big role in reducing carbon emissions in the automotive manufacturing industry because recycling reduces the need to refine new materials. Donating your vehicle is a win for our community and the environment!

We want to thank the Enterprise Mobility team for their ongoing partnership since 2022. Most recently, last week their team rolled up their sleeves on our build site to help us with the construction of a brand new, affordable Habitat home.

Enterprise Mobility’s support bolsters our ability to pioneer innovative housing solutions, empower individuals through knowledge, and transform communities by addressing the root causes of the housing crisis.

Strong women build strong communities, and we’re so grateful to have so many groups come out to support our Women Build events in March.

Teams from Alight, Bank of America, Hilton Grand Vacations, HomeVestors, Rosen Hotels & Resorts and Synchrony all donated their time, talent and treasure last month. Huge thank yous to each group for helping us on our mission to face the housing crisis.
