Dear OUSD Community,
We write today with some updates about the work we are doing in response to COVID. As always, please visit for more information about how we’re working toward safely returning to in-person learning and support.
Family Medical Info Sessions
Tonight, Thursday Feb. 11 from 5:30-7:00, is the first in a series of family medical information sessions in partnership with medical doctors of the UCSF Pediatric Advisory Task Force (convened by the UCSF Center for Child and Community Health).  Click here for the links for joining, to learn more and share a question you would like addressed. We will also have a number of targeted presentations to follow this one.
Labor Negotiations
Our labor team has posted the most recent labor proposals from OUSD and from our labor partners on our website in an effort to share more information about the negotiations process. Click here for proposals related to COVID-19
Staff COVID Testing
OUSD’s Staff COVID Testing program is available to all on-site employees and contractors. Eligible staff and contractors may sign up here. In Deep Purple (case rates of 14+ per 100k), the state is now recommending weekly testing for staff members working on site.

Safety Video

The video above shows some of the work we have been doing to make sure our schools are safe and aligned to the most up-to-date health guidance both for the people who are already working there, and for the future when we are allowed to open additional spaces. The video is available in six languages at
COVID Relief Impact Fund Report
In partnership with the Oakland Ed Fund, our COVID-19 Relief Fund has raised more than $2.5 million thanks to 2,000+ generous donors. Read more about the impact of the COVID Relief Fund and how these donations have been allocated.
Learning Hubs
Our learning hubs continue to operate and serve a limited number of our students. We launched them focused on specific populations (unhoused students, students in foster care, and a limited number of students receiving special education services). Participating students are accepted through a referral from their school team’s Coordinated Service Team (COST) process. We are currently working on launching more learning hubs across the District.
