Picture Day, PTO News, COVID Testing at BISD
Ordway
September 27, 2021
Dear Ordway Friends,

Hoping this letter finds everyone well. Sending gratitude to our entire school community for helping our children adjust to the full days!

Today, September 27th all BISD elementary staff will be receiving continued training around Dyslexia, current rules and procedures, communication with families and how to support students. Our district is committed to meeting and exceeding expectations as it relates to Dyslexia and I look forward to communicating with families regarding our efforts. For future Monday PD Ordway will be focusing on equity work and implementation of our new math curricula.

BISD continues to follow all Covid safety protocols for anyone on any of our campuses. Thanks to all for wearing a mask whether indoors or outdoors at Ordway.

Please note that Picture Day will be Tuesday October 12. More information to follow next week on how to pre-order your child's photos.

Lastly, please take a look at the PTO section of this newletter to see some of the fun activities PTO has lined up for the month of October.

Best,
Debra Dunn

PTO FALL EVENTS
Help us design the next Ordway button!
The PTO is hosting a button designing contest. Your child received a sheet of paper from school explaining the contest. Entries are due back to Ordway by Friday 10/15.

Bainbridge Gardens Pumpkin Walk

During the month of October, Bainbridge Gardens hosts its annual Pumpkin Walk. This festive fall event is family friendly (no spooky, scary stuff), and this year, Ordway has been invited to participate!
In lieu of carved pumpkins glowing at night, Bainbridge Gardens is hosting this year's event during the day throughout October and featuring painted pumpkins. We hope you'll join us by contributing a pumpkin creation from the creative mind of your very own Ordway otter!  (PTO will provide the pumpkins!  Expect one to arrive home from school ready to paint.)
We'll be at Bainbridge Gardens collecting Ordway pumpkins on Saturday, October 9th from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Bring your creation, stop by the food truck, and enjoy the pumpkins—and feel free to come in costume!
PICTURE DAY
Mark your calendar for Picture Day Tuesday October 12. More details to follow next week on how to pre-order your child's photos. Olympic Photo Group is our vendor again this year and we will have picture day in the building during the school day this year.
