Ordway

September 20, 2021
Dear Ordway Friends,

Sincere appreciation to everyone who has been helping with coverage, especially during meals, here at Ordway! Whether it is helping with set up/breakdown, disinfecting tables, or the many little things children may need help with, it makes a world of difference to have extra pairs of hands. Thanks to numerous parents who have been able to volunteer at breakfast and lunch. I especially wish to thank Miss Elizabeth and Miss Tina, Ordway’s food service staff for their hard work and kind regard towards every child. Other staff are also helping - going above and beyond are Bernadette Fay and Darrel Rapada for their countless efforts that help mealtimes go smoothly. And as a school, we are reminding children to include please and thank you’s with regard to all adults helping us - both staff and volunteers!

Despite being remote, teachers and parents report very much enjoying Parents’ Night last Monday and Tuesday evenings. By now, we are all sort of accepting Zooming as a way of life - though I did miss the in-person excitement of an open house - especially since I am new and want to meet everyone sooner than later. It was evident that across the board, there is a positive outlook toward the year ahead especially as we return to full-time and a sense of near-normalcy.

Best,
Debra
