Dear SUA Families,
Last Thursday, SUA proudly hosted Julie Carrier, the founder of the Girls’ Leadership Advisory Council and advisor to The Leadership Program at St. Ursula Academy. The girls had an amazing time learning from Julie as they welcomed her with kind hearts and listened to her messages on Leadership:
- Know yourself and lead yourself.
- You are priceless! Know your worth!
- Always Be Confident! (ABCs)
- Set boundaries for healthy relationships.
- Focus on your goals--keep those up in the air! Don't let anything distract you from achieving all that you want to achieve.
Did you know that Julie Carrier and SUA's Leadership Program have been showcased on an international stage? This past spring, Julie, Mary Werner, and Ella Stoll ’25 were invited to the conversation on the Provocateurs podcast. Ella was the first student to ever be interviewed on this podcast and SUA was the first-ever high school to be featured!
Provocateurs is a series from Thinkers50 with Deloitte, where every month they present a “provocateur” in conversation. This podcast gives people direct access to the thoughts, experiences, stories and insights of remarkable leaders from around the world. The aim is to provoke you to think and act differently through candid and thought-provoking conversations with fantastic leaders.
We are so proud that the evidence-based leader-development work that SUA is doing is recognized and valued on the international leadership stage! Check it out!

Freshman Retreat
The Freshman Class Retreat will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Ursuline Center (4045 Indian Road Toledo, OH 43606) located next to SUA. This retreat will serve as the perfect opportunity for your daughters to grow closer together as a class. During the retreat, students will build friendships with one another and God through fun activities and faith formation experiences. Through these experiences, it is our hope that the students develop a sense of what it means to be a member of the SUA community and seek to grow in their relationship with God as the adventure of high school truly begins.
Lunch for the day will be provided. Students do not have to wear their uniforms and should dress comfortably in order to take part in various activities throughout the day. If you have questions, please contact Campus Minister, Mrs. Pelz at lpelz@toledosua.org.
