99.7% of students tested COVID-free before coming back 

The University of Notre Dame, in concert with LabCorp, conducted nearly 12,000 pre-matriculation COVID-19 tests of students before the start of classes on campus Monday, with less than one-third of 1 percent testing positive. (More...)

Jason Reed was happy to be back in the classroom Monday. Sure, it was a different classroom than the assistant teaching professor of finance is accustomed to — much larger — and the students were physically distanced and, yes, everyone was wearing a mask. But besides those details, it felt normal. And normal feels really good. (More...)

Campus Dining is open for business, with modifications

Dining on campus looks a little different this semester. Extra precautions are being taken to mitigate risks associated with the coronavirus. Using apps such as GrubHub to preorder food and getting food to go will help keep diners safe. (More...)

Hesburgh Libraries reopen spaces and in-person services

The Hesburgh Library is open to members of the campus community and has resumed its normal 24/5 schedule until further notice. Please note: the Lower Level, 1st Floor and 2nd Floor will be closed for deep cleaning Monday to Friday, from 4 a.m.–7 a.m. Branch libraries resumed modified services August 10. Please check the Hesburgh Libraries Service Continuity website often for information about service details, in-person access and safe use of library spaces. RecSports has partnered with Wellbeats to gain access to the same on-demand fitness classes offered in the private fitness studios in the Smith Center for Recreational Sports. Unlimited streaming access to Wellbeats is available through Monday, Aug. 31. (More...)

An app that helps sports venues with physical distancing

If the coronavirus pandemic ended tomorrow, Scott Nestler’s newly launched company’s days would likely be numbered. He’s ok with that.
