Here are a few things to know as we begin a new semester!
1. Residence Life-Room Selection is coming soon! If your student is required to live on campus or wants to continue the on-campus living experience, Room Selection is around the corner! Applications will be available from January 6 through March 2. For more information, please visit the Residential Life website or call the Residential Life office at (504) 865-2445.
2. Pastoral Counseling: Our University Ministers offer a warm and trusting environment, welcome to all, where students can find a listening ear and an understanding heart. University ministers are trained to assist in times of grief or despair and to support spiritual needs. For more information, students can contact the Student Life and Ministry at (504) 865-2670 or a minister of their choice.
3. Behavior Intervention Team (BIT): The purpose of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is to coordinate University resources to support students and promote a safe and healthy campus community. BIT addresses concerns such as academic difficulty, absences from class, family emergencies, family/student illness, and personal wellness. If you know a student who is struggling or experiencing stressors, we encourage you to submit a report by clicking here. As part of the BIT process, we work very hard to maintain confidentiality for students so they trust the work we’re doing; as a result, if you submit a report, we don’t generally report back to you. However, we follow up on every single report submitted and work across departments and offices to get students connected to the support and resources they need.
4. Barnes and Noble Bookstore: When you visit the bookstore website and sign up with your email address, you instantly receive a coupon for 10% off spirit gear! You also will receive notifications of promotions including exclusive online promotions such as birthday celebration coupons! For questions, contact Maris Hazners, Bookstore Manager, at LoyolaNewOrleansBookstore@loyno.edu.
We're looking forward to another great semester!
