Dear Friend of Advance Memphis,
After much prayer and consideration, in light of the CDC’s recommendation to postpone any gatherings of 50 people or more, Advance Memphis is suspending all programming until further notice. This means that all classes will be suspended and volunteer opportunities limited at this time. We are closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control, as well as local government regarding the spread of COVID-19.
In light of our calling as followers of Christ, and in response to the significant economic impact that COVID-19 is having on the nation, Advance Memphis is continuing to serve graduates through our Employment Development Services.
Many graduates working hourly through Advance Memphis staffing and outsourcing services will be impacted as businesses in our city navigate their labor needs and cash flow. We are committed to subsidizing temporary employee wages to help alleviate some of the anticipated economic impact on our neighbors working as temporary labor. We are remaining focused on empowering our neighbors to find work and keep it during this time, as we have done for the last 20 years. In providing this ongoing employment support for our neighbors, we need to raise additional resources to help meet the need. Will you consider partnering with us in supporting our vulnerable neighbors through your prayer and giving?
Here are some ways you can be praying with us for our neighbors in South Memphis:
