Traditions! Happy December to our Rosemont family!
The holidays are a wonderful time to reflect on traditions and memories. Looking back, I recall the many days and nights spent on campus on Montgomery and Wendover Avenues… Rosemont did not have an actual street address in the 1980s! At just about every meal in Cardinal Hall, the “more effervescent” personalities at the tables would start the “Old Gray Mare” chants, and different classes would rally back to see whose chant was the loudest or most creative. Each class had a special mantra…for example, "the only girls who ever __ are in the class of __"... Read more here
On behalf of your Alumni Board of Directors, I wish you and your families a blessed holiday season.
Peace, Dr. Karen A. (Santillo) Fiorillo '84, '02

See an interview with Shakira here.
For Shakira Hansley, Rosemont may be small, but it’s definitely powerful as well. The environment was one where she could develop her strengths, notably connecting with people. Her professors fostered joy in learning through their excitement for teaching, their passion for their field, and their love of learning that spilled over to students. Hansley learned that the heart and soul of Catholicism is service, which she lives out everyday as an advocate for children.
“To me, human rights is synonymous with human dignity, and justice means righteousness, equity, being unbiased, and treating everyone with respect.”
