ATMIA continues its work to advocate for the role of cash as a critical method of payment in the region. Following the release of the Federal Governments’ Review of the Australian Payment System, ATMIA has partnered with the Australian Security Industry Association Ltd (ASIAL) to call for greater clarity about how the government will ensure payment choice remains into the future. This is based upon the report making clear that cash will remain an important method of payment into the future both for vulnerable members of society and as a “backup” to electronic payments. ATMIA has always prided itself in providing the most informative and best value events for its members. In light of ongoing travel restrictions: both domestically and internationally, alongside being aware that the past 6 months have been a difficult period for our members, we have made the difficult decision to delay our conference. The new date for the Next-Gen ATMs Payment event in Sydney will now be held on 7th-8th December 2022.
If you have the interest in either presenting or taking advantage of our marketing and sponsorship at this event, please contact sandra.smith@atmia.com
The next Strategic Direction teleconference for 2021 is scheduled for 8th December at 4 pm AEST. The agenda and dial-up details will be forwarded to all members later this month. This is a perfect forum for members to openly discuss any current issues or concerns.
On a final note, the petition to Save Cash - Our right to access & use cash must be protected by law. Over 75,000 Aussies have signed the petition and are standing up for our right to choose cash. We encourage our members to take action and sign the petition today. Click here to sign.
