What was happening on Buffalo Road in February 1973....
- SJA alumna Cherie Sprosty and Dowling alumnus Mark Gable were in the Simpson College cast that performed “The Lottery” at Dowling, one of a number of stops on a tour of Iowa and Minnesota.
- Sister Mira appointed Mary Heezen and Dan Malliet as co-editors of The Paper. Also named to the staff: Sue West, Jennifer Polich, Kathy Gannon, Vicky Leto, Mike Perkins, Ellen Johnson, Carla Johnson, Patty Flanagan, John Steffen, Julie Tibbetts, Charlie Taylor, Mike Ganley, Jeff Hager, Chris De Angelo, Julie Schnoebelen and Rose Marie Funaro.
- Sister Wilfred continued to merge the library card catalogues brought to the new campus from St. Joseph and Dowling.
- Eight intramural girls basketball teams played in their own league many Saturday mornings during the winter. Nancy Faber was reportedly the leading scorer in the league.
- The wrestling team captured a share of the Metro Conference championship with a 6-0-1 record, equaling Valley’s record. Among the grapplers: co-captains Dennis Carroll and Ron Gray, who both qualified for the state meet, as did Paul Koester, Tom Meyer and Brien Harvey. Others on the team: Kevin McIlhon, Scott Lawton, Pat VanNatta, Don Godfrey, Scott Kollings, and Alan Helton.
- The boys basketball team upset fifth-ranked Lincoln 90-76 behind double-figure scoring from Tim Hart, Bob Callaghan, Greg Palmershein and Matt Kasper.
- Liz McDermott and Diane Reed were the top gymnastics performers.
