Dear Sandra, welcome to your April newsletter
This month began with a strong endorsement of cash as a payment method by the Government in correspondence received from Senator Jane Hume, the Minister for Financial Services. In this letter, it was made clear that cash will remain an important means of payment in the future, making particular reference to the Payment System Review and the emphasis placed on ensuring cash remains accessible to all. ATMIA will continue to maintain its strong advocacy work into the future to push for securing the stability and accessibility of the payment system through ongoing communication with leaders in Government, the industry, and other advocacy groups.
Our new platform for the Strategic Direction Committee teleconference held last month has received a positive response from our members. Again, a special thank-you to Gavin Napier our Chairperson, for his support in 2022, his expertise, and industry knowledge continue to be a valuable tool for ATMIA. To view the minutes click here.
Finally, a reminder to start planning for the Next-Gen ATMs & Payment event, being held in Sydney on the 7th & 8th of December. This two-day event is an opportunity to bring the industry back together for the long-overdue discussions, professional networking, and lively exchange of information and views. For marketing and sponsorship details available at this event click here or alternatively, please feel free to contact sandra.smmith@atmia.com anytime.
On behalf of the ATMIA team, stay safe over the Easter break, and I would like to thank- you all for your ongoing support.
