Interfaith Dialogue and Concert: Heart of Afghanistan and Yamma

Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
The Kaufman Institute will convene its annual interfaith dialogue with a focus on the music of Israel and Afghanistan, and through that lens, open a conversation regarding the faith traditions inherent in each nation’s cultures. Through educational activities and public performances designed for all ages and levels of musical experience, Heart of Afghanistan and the Israeli ensemble, Yamma, will represent their country and musical heritage as cultural ambassadors.
The People's Supper
Thursday, October 13th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM
In a moment of acute political division, the supper table is a uniquely simple and sacred space through which we can find real nourishment and real healing. As Maya Angelou said, “food is important not just as fuel for the body, but as devices for growth for the soul.” Since January 2017, The People’s Supper has hosted thousands of suppers across the country, born of a belief that a group of thoughtful people who differ from one another — politically, culturally, racially, and generationally — can sit down over a shared meal and engage in meaningful conversation together.
We would love for you to grab a seat and join us for supper. This will be a chance for us to break bread with new people and share stories about the people and moments that make us who we are: no politics, no problem-solving, just people. We will walk through a short series of questions, and we’ll equip interested participants with the tools and training they need to host conversations of their own.
23rd Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration
Monday, November 21, 2022 from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Join us for a celebration where many traditions and cultures will come together to give thanks for one another, even in the midst of uncertainty and division. Through song, dance, prayer, and storytelling we will share gratitude with and for our West Michigan neighbors.

A virtual freewill offering will be taken for organizations around West Michigan that are supporting our community.
