News That Rocks

February was Fabulous! Our In House Livestream shows were AMAZING,  and our next show season is just around the corner! Read all about it in this month's newsletter!

Our Live Stream Shows were AWESOME!

We held our Fall Seasonal Shows at our favorite newest venue: Our very own School of Rock Ashburn! The rehearsal room was transformed into a professional studio (thank you Travis and Kevin!!) where our kids had the opportunity to perform safely and learn about what it takes to put on a sucessful live stream. As a team we honestly thought the shows were incredible and we thank our parents for all the great feedback - it meant a lot.  It's been a year of firsts and watching these kids putting it all out there musically and with heart just made us so so proud.  Live streaming is definitely here to stay and is a new fun part of rock school. Great job everyone!!
Spring 2021 Show Season Kicks off this week!
We've got a great show season planned, featuring Post-Punk Revival, Femmes Fatales, Seattle Sounds and History of Metal! The next season begins this week. It's not too late to sign up, reach out to Jess or Travis if you're interested in joining a group!

New Rock 101 Session!

We're opening up another session of Rock 101 Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:45. Rock 101 is perfect for the budding musician who is just getting started on their chosen instrument. Come check out a session to see if it's a right fit for your kiddo!

Our Rookies Program is Going Strong!

Our Rookies class is ROCKIN! Our Rookies Program is designed for the 1st or 2nd grader in your life who is just starting out on their musical journey and not quite ready for one-on-one lessons. Students begin learning music fundamentals and having fun learning music thru playing games and getting to try out different instruments. Rookies meets at 3:45 on Fridays, with more sessions on the way!  Ask us about all our safety protocols too!

What's your favorite thing about School of Rock? The People are my favorite part of SOR. I love working with them and they make playing music even more fun than it already is. I've made great friends and had great times.
What goals do you have for the coming year?
I want to improve my screaming, strengthen my mixed voice, and write more music.
What advice do you have for new students?
Challenge yourself. Provided it's not too stressful, getting out of your comfort zone is a great way to learn new techniques, concepts, etc. And that will help you improve as a musician.

Summer Camps Are Enrolling!

We're already planning a summer of fun and music!  Our regular programs run year around, but you can also get more music with a week long camp experience.  Ages 7 thru high school.

Safety Is Our Top Priority

Creating a COVID-19 safe environment has been and remains our #1 priority for students and staff when they are in the building.  We know that many of our students just want to come in person and we are doing all the safety protocols to ensure we are providing a safe environment to rock.
  • We require masks while in the building
  • All persons entering the school are given a symptom and temperature check
  • All persons entering the school immediately wash their hands and hand sanitizer is used frequently
  • We keep the number of people in our building at any given time to levels lower than required
  • We maintain social distancing at all times
  • We have barriers between vocalists and the band in our groups and a barrier is in all lessons
  • We disinfect all high touch surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant using a special misting tool that gets in every crevice, nook and cranny.
In other words, we're serious about safety!  If you think your child might do better in person, give us a call and let's give it a try.  You may also schedule a time to come see it all in person to gauge your comfort level.
