Round 11 of NYS Consolidated Funding Open for Applications

Round eleven of the Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs) was officially launched this week. The NYS Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) portal is now live and accepting applications. Deadline for applications to be submitted is July 30 at 4:00 p.m.
The 2021 funding round includes more than $750 million in state economic-development resources in what the state is calling “a new decade of economic development in a post-pandemic recovery.”
Across the previous rounds, the Central New York REDC has been awarded $789.8 million for 801 projects.

Next Small Business Training Class to Be Held Online in June

SUNY Oswego’s Business Resource Center will host a small business training class for those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County. Classes will be held Monday, June 14th through Friday, June 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday, June 21st through Tuesday, June 22nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm online through SUNY Oswego’s Business Resource Center.
This certificate program provides training that covers such topics as how to write a business plan, how to obtain financing, accounting and tax issues, business insurance, legalities, marketing, and other basic business start-up issues. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 in low-interest financing to expand or start their business in Oswego County.
Online training is provided by Small Business Development Center (SBDC) advisors, as well as other area business professionals. The program is coordinated by SUNY Oswego’s Business Resource Center, with promotional and scholarship support provided by the City of Fulton Community Development Agency, the City of Oswego Community Development Office, and Operation Oswego County.
Tuition for the program is $50 and includes all materials. Limited scholarships are available for this class.
