Howdy!

We are thrilled to have you joining our family here at Texas A&M University!

In case you missed our previous communications, due to ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19, New Student Conferences are moving to a fully virtual experience for summer 2020. As we continue the process of making this transition, we are committed to keeping you informed by providing regular updates along the way. We know you will have questions, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate these unusual circumstances.

WHY WE MADE THIS DECISION SO EARLY

While the COVID-19 situation may look different later this summer, Texas A&M could not wait to make a decision due to time needed to set up the necessary infrastructure to transition to a new format. Given each NSC has 700 students and up to 1,200 guests in close proximity to each other during programs, we could not put individuals at risk of spreading the virus.

ONLINE ORIENTATION

Online orientation is NOT the same as your Virtual NSC. Online Orientation is a series of modules which must be completed PRIOR to your virtual NSC. Online orientation is released mid-May and provides a basic overview of information, preparing you for more detailed content shared during the NSC. You will receive an email specific to Online Orientation only once those modules are released.

Online orientation is a registration hold, and if you do not complete it, you cannot proceed with your Virtual NSC.

MEETING WITH YOUR ADVISOR

Students will have a virtual academic advising time on Day 2 of their original NSC date.

Details on signing up for a specific time will be provided at a later date.

NSC HOUSING REFUNDS

All NSC on-campus accommodations (this does NOT include the A&M Hotel & Conference Center) have been automatically canceled. Since NSC Housing is not charged in advance, there is no NSC Housing refund to provide and you will not be charged.
