Penn LDI
FEBRUARY 2021
In a new white paper and accompanying policy brief, Penn LDI and the Healthcare Transformation Institute at the University of Pennsylvania review what we've learned over the past decade of payment reform, and recommend ways that the Biden administration can accelerate and complete the nation’s transformation to value-based payment.

Our first virtual seminar of 2021 featured national experts discussing the interconnections among voting, structural racism, and health inequity.
Late last year, Penn LDI and Penn Nursing convened experts and stakeholders in a virtual conference and accompanying workshop to discuss scope of practice reform after COVID-19. Read the resulting issue brief summarizing the conference, and policy brief summarizing the recommendations for Pennsylvania policymakers.
In JAMA, Sameed Khatana and colleagues found that after the Great Recession, the uneven economic recovery across the country was linked to differing death rates from heart disease and stroke among middle-aged Americans.
In May 2020, Penn LDI awarded 13 COVID-19 Rapid Response Research Grants, designed to produce policy insights directly relevant to the unfolding pandemic and its broad range of health effects. Learn about the funded projects and their results on our dedicated grant page.
