We've been busy training the solar workforce, offering new solar job resources, and working with Midwest homeowners, businesses, organizations, and schools on their journey to solar.

We're Hiring: Media Coordinator
We are looking for a Media Coordinator to help support the development and implementation of our digital media and virtual presence. Working with MREA staff, this individual will guide the development of engaging audio and video content suitable for MREA’s YouTube channel, social media, and email marketing. Interested?

Listen to our Solar on Schools Interview on the Larry Meiller Show!
Our Solar on Schools program is designed to help Wisconsin schools invest in solar energy. In year one, the program is having a big impact. Have a listen to our talk with Larry Meiller and representiatives from our program’s collaborating organizations. Find out how it works, and what the process was like for the Eau Claire Public School District, one of tour participating schools.
Solar on Schools Case Study: Eau Claire Public Schools
The two 126 kW systems installed on both North High School and Memorial High School were complete by the end of October and commissioned in December 2020. This solar project will save the district approximately $20,000 annually in utility costs. “We are so grateful for the community’s support of this awesome initiative. This year we have six eligible candidates and five open seats on the board. Learn about the candidates  on our Board of Directors page. MREA Members in good standing are allowed one vote per membership. Please vote using the link that we emailed to you. Voting ends on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. CST.
RSVP to Member Meeting for Elections
All MREA Members are invited to join us for our Member Meeting for Elections on Monday, February 22 at 5 p.m. We'll gather online via Zoom so you can meet our current board members and listen to introductions from our candidates running for election.
Please RSVP, and we'll follow up with a zoom link closer to the meeting. We greatly appreciate your input and involvement, we hope you'll join us!
We DID IT! Rise Up Giving Goal Met
Thanks to the 230+ donors who contributed to our Rise Up Giving Campaign, we surpassed our goal and raised over $30,675! These funds will provide 30 renewable energy training scholarships and paid solar internships to students in low to moderate income communities across the Midwest. Thank You!

Together with the Straubel Foundation we are offering Clean Energy Leadership Award scholarships. These scholarships aim to assist Midwest students who are pursuing degrees and/or relevant credentials in renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, or clean technology. Apply by March 30th!

50th Annual National Solar Conference 

We're please to partner with the American Solar Energy Society to promote their SOLAR 2021 Conference: Empowering a Sustainable Future. The event will take place online and in person as a hybrid event from August 3-6, 2021 at the University of Colorado Boulder in Boulder, CO. If you'd like to submit a presentation, the deadline to do so is February 15th. Learn More!
