| Nominating Committee Seeks Candidates
The Nominating committee has begun its work to select candidates to appear on the ballot in November for officers and directors for the 2023-2024 Rotary year when Lesli Massad will be President. The committee is carefully considering a pool of potential candidates who have been engaged club members and demonstrated an interest in leadership in the club. However, to ensure that we are making our selection from the deepest pool of qualified candidates, we would welcome anyone interested in serving to reach out.
If you are interested in being considered for a position on the ballot, please let Megan know by email, no later than 5:00 pm on September 20. To be eligible, a club member must have been a member of Club 29 for at least three years at the time of the vote in November.
Sincerely,
Ellen Fleming - Chair
Nominating Committee

| Advertising Space Available
Advertising support makes it possible for Club 29 to publish news and information critical to our members, such as meeting notices, speaker schedules, and other crucial communications. Your message would be seen by our community's most prominent leaders and gain incredible exposure on the world wide web. The advertising revenue pays for the software we use to design and distribute the newsletters as well as Club 29's website hosting, so your support is important to all members.
There are a few ad spaces available, but filling them is very important for our club’s member communications. If you are interested, you may find more information here or call the Rotary office.

September 2022 Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Julie Farrell received a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati, where she developed her philosophy of teaching revolving around inclusion and providing equitable learning opportunities to a diverse population of learners. She is a Special Education teacher at Wheeler Middle School. While teaching, Julie also attended a graduate studies program at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and earned her Master’s in Special Education Administration. Julie has spent the last three years teaching, as well as dedicating her time to her students as the Cross-Country Coach, Girls Soccer Coach, and Special Education Department Chair.
Julie truly believes that teaching is an act of love, and wants every student who enters her classroom to believe they are capable and deserving of learning, growth, and success. She is a member of a resilient special education team that serves their school population with a “student first” mentality, a team of coaches that motivates their students through leadership and athletics, and a team of department chairs who have instilled a foundation for expanding upon the expertise that already resides in our school building
Congratulation, Julie!

Wings of Rotary - Japan 2023
Each summer, District 5750 sends a team of 10th to 12th graders to District 2520 located in the Miyagi and Iwate prefectures in Japan for approximately two weeks.
In taking part of WINGS of Rotary, students will learn a new way of living, a great deal about yourself, and maybe even a new language. You'll also be an ambassador, teaching people you meet about your country, culture, and ideas. You can help bring the world closer - and make some good friends in the process.
More than 8,000 young people each year have experiences like these through Rotary Youth Exchanges. It's the opportunity of a lifetime. Are you ready for it? For more information contact Keith Oehlert.
