Deirdre Shoemake, '05
Deirdre Shoemake is the program director for the Accelerated Prelicensure BSN Nursing Program at UNF. She worked full time while attending school and now lends her time to support various UNF programming. She is an Osprey through and through, and we are so proud to have her as an alumna.
"UNF is like a tree. UNF has bore fruit and been the home for many to nest. Its branches continue to bloom with curricula and programming. Just as a tree is supported by its trunks and roots, the people of UNF have poured into me and provided me stabilization."
When Shoemake isn't leading UNF to new heights, she loves going to stand-up comedy shows, connecting with friends, traveling and watching movies. As the program director, Shoemake ensures students are engaged with real-world experience in the classroom and community. She believes in transformational learning to provide students with knowledge applicable to problems beyond the classroom.
"There is important work being done here at UNF. And, you always have a home at the Nest."
