Grand Valley State University
The Virus Action Team has started the transition process to a sustainable response to COVID-19 for the university, and we have three important updates to share.
Revised Vaccine Exemption Process: The COVID-19 vaccine requirement at GVSU will remain in place, but for those seeking an exemption, we have updated the process with new forms, one for medical and another for non-medical (which now allows for religious, philosophical, or “online-only” justifications).
Reporting of Vaccination Status: Starting today, GVSU is now using Med+Proctor to collect and store proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Please visit COVID-19 Vaccine Reporting and Exemptions - GVSU Health Hub - Grand Valley State University for information about how to upload your proof of vaccination into Med+Proctor.
Important note: If you have previously uploaded your vaccination card to the self-assessment, that information will be automatically transferred to Med+Proctor. If you previously entered the dates into the self-assessment, but did not upload proof of vaccination, you must upload your vaccination information and card into Med+Proctor.
Med+Proctor is free for all GVSU community members and there is no need to sign up for any additional features. However, it does offer a lifetime enhanced option that costs $10. If you don't want the enhanced service, be sure to click on "To continue without paying." For questions about Med+Proctor, use its online chat site.
Testing for those who are unvaccinated: Effective immediately, the university is suspending the requirement that those who are not vaccinated must test weekly. While weekly testing has been critical to help contain the spread of COVID in the Grand Valley community, it is now much easier to test at home for free. So, the Virus Action Team will no longer send out weekly reminders to those who are not fully vaccinated.
Thank you for following the university’s health and safety protocols. Watch for additional updates later this month on other COVID-related matters.
