PBS HAWAIʻI CLASSICS: Kaʻu Sugar: A Town Remembers (Wed., Jan 4, 7:30 pm) This is a rebroadcast of a Spectrum Hawaiʻi episode which documents the last days of sugar in Pāhala, Kaʻu on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.




 PBS HAWAIʻI PRESENTS: The Hawaiian Room (Thur., Jan 5, 8:30 pm) located in the famed Lexington Hotel, was an oasis of Hawaiian culture and entertainment in the heart of New York City, between 1937 and 1966. 



PACIFIC HEARTBEAT: Tokyo Hula (Thur., Jan. 5, 7:30 pm) examines the popularity of hula in Japan, where an estimated two million people dance hula. Through stories of Hawaiian kumu hula and Japanese students, the film poses questions about what happens to culture when exported.

FRONTLINE: Global Spyware Scandal: Exposing Pegasus (Tues., Jan. 3, 10:00 pm) begins a two-part investigation into the powerful spyware sold to governments by the Israeli company NSO Group that has been used to spy on journalists and activists.





The Herriot Way (Sat., Jan. 7, 8:00 pm) is a four-day walk through the English towns and countryside made famous by author James Herriot in his All Creatures Great and Small series.
