NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Wilkes Families,

Conference week is here! There is no school Wednesday-Friday this week so teachers can meet with families. We look forward to meeting with you and sharing your student's progress this 2022-2023 school year.

Don’t forget—we want to hear your voice. Please take a moment to share what makes Wilkes a special place and/or provide a name suggestion by using this link. This opportunity will close this Friday, January 27 at 5:00 p.m!

Warmly,

Whitney
HELPLINE HOUSE FOOD & HYGIENE DRIVE
Neighbor helping neighbor
Wilkes 4th Grade Leadership Council is coordinating a food and hygiene drive to assist Helpline House in filling their household pantry. Helpline House is a Bainbridge non-profit that offers an umbrella of social services and invites the community to become a part of a circle of giving and receiving help - Neighbor helping Neighbor.
Donations will be accepted until February 2, 2023, Wilkes students and staff are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and hygiene items that will be donated to Helpline House.
Helpline is hoping for the following items:
  • Canned fruit
  • Youth snacks
  • Shelf-stable proteins
  • Dental care items
  • Shaving products
  • Toilet paper
Please help the 4th Grade Leadership Council spread kindness in our island community. All donations can be dropped off in the front office. We appreciate your donations, and every donation makes a difference!
WILKES RENAMING
Last chance!
It is the last week to share your input regarding what makes Wilkes special and name recommendations for the committee to use in the renaming process.  The Wilkes Renaming Form will remain open through January 27th.

KINDERGARTEN INFROMATION NIGHT!
Parents & Guardians of the Class of 2036: It's time to discuss kindergarten!
Your child is about to embark on a wonderful milestone and BISD is proud to be part of this momentous event. Kindergarten sets the foundation for your child’s school career and puts your student on a lifelong path of learning.

While kindergarten is a time of great discovery, excitement and growth, it’s also a big transition — for families and children alike! That’s why when you enroll your child in kindergarten at BISD, your student will receive a high-quality education and gain a team of staff whose main goal is to help your child succeed intellectually, socially and emotionally.
