Nonprofit Volunteer and Internship Fair 

The Nonprofit Volunteer & Internship Fair is ideal for students seeking to connect with local nonprofit and public organizations to learn more about volunteer or internship opportunities. We will be hosting the fair on Tuesday, September 14th from 12-3pm, simultaneously on both the Allendale (KC lawn) and Grand Rapids (DEV courtyard) campuses. Students can come and talk with representatives from more than 40 local organizations to learn more about how to get connected and give back!
We look forward to seeing you there!  

Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference Day is a national day of service, recognized on campuses and in communities across the country! GVSU's Community Service Learning Center is proud to have recognized this day of service for over 15 years.
Join GVSU on Saturday, October 16th from 11am-2:30pm as we celebrate this national day of service and host a group of GVSU students at your organization! Got a project that needs many hands? Let a group of GVSU students help you while they learn about your organization and the communities you serve!

Democracy 101

Join us this fall for our expanded version of Democracy 101 in partnership with the Cook Leadership Academy and Padnos-Sarosik Center for Civil Discourse. Each session will have a presentation component that focuses on education about the topic and how it impacts not only our community, but communities across the country. The second half will hold space for a student led dialogue about the topic. 
Date: September 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Topic: Doing Democracy through Student Voting: MI Voter Engagement
Location: Mary Idema Pew Library Multi-purpose Room (LIB 030)

National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is a national holiday that is annually held every fourth Tuesday of September. Register to vote with the MI Secretary of State.Date: Tuesday September 28th from 11am-4pm

9/11 Day of Service with Heart of WM United Way

In honor of the September 11 National Day of Service and Rememberance, help the United Way assemble 1,200+ Family Emergency Preparedness Starter Kits for families in Grand Rapids.

Mayors' Grand River Clean Up

Join WMEAC for fun and giving back during the 2021 Mayors' Grand River Clean Up ! 
This day of service will be a hybrid event and will take place on Saturday, September 11th through Saturday, September 18th  
This year they are allowing you all to register individually, with a small group of friends or family, or even as a business !

Constitution Day

Join the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies, Student Senate and the CSLC to recognize Constitution Day. Come and pick up your free pocket US Constitution from student leaders on Monday 9/13 between 11am-1pm in the Kirkhof Center Lobby. On Sept. 15, join Hauenstein Center for more Akhil Reed Amar for a Constitution Day Celebration. For more info and to register: 

Decorate Brown Bags for Kids Food Basket

Brown Bag Decorating Day is a perfect way for you to use your creative skills to create a positive change for the kids in your community ! Inside of each decorated brown paper bag will be a nutritious, ready to-eat meal delivered right to a child’s school or a distribution site, ensuring children have access the healthy food they need to thrive. Kids Food Basket hosts this event and they are in need of as much help they can recieve to reach their goal of 150,000 bags. Come stop in room 1108 in KC to pick up a brown paper bag to decorate, bags are due back in KC by September 30th.
