Pre-Orientation Decisions Announced

Decisions for Fall 2021 Pre-Orientation Programs have been announced. All students who submitted an application should have received an email last Thursday with one of three decisions: accept, waitlist, or reject. If you did not apply or were unable to get into a program, worry not! There will be plenty of opportunities to connect with your peers during orientation week.
If you applied for a program and did not receive an email, please email studentorientation@duke.edu.

Shopping Cart Tips

When you explore the course catalog, look for classes that really interest you, and don’t worry about filling specific requirements.  Any class you take in your first semester will satisfy multiple requirements.
Don’t be concerned about starting on a specific major.  While it makes good sense to explore courses in departments that especially interest you and that you may eventually decide to major in, you don’t need to begin your major in your first semester.
For more tips and information related to summer advising and course registration, click here to visit the Academic Advising Center's (AAC) website.

Enroll in a Payment Plan

Duke partners with Nelnet to provide the option of breaking up the semester tuition cost into monthly payments. The deadline to enroll in a payment plan for the Fall semester is June 29, 2021. For more information on what options are available to you, please visit the Bursar website.

East Campus Move-In Announcement

Move-In Day for first-year students will be Tuesday, August 17. As of now, all students will be required to complete an entry baseline COVID-19 test prior to receiving move-in materials. There will not be a sequester period while awaiting the results of the baseline test.
More information regarding specific move-in times, scheduling a baseline test, move-in parking, and more will be shared later this summer.
**Subject to change as Duke officials continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic**

Save the Date: Orientation Week

New Student Orientation will be held in-person from Tuesday, August 17 - Sunday, August 22. As you get ready to move to Durham in August, New Student Programs is here to help you navigate life on campus, meet new people, and introduce you to some of the resources that can assist you on your journey. Orientation kicks off with move-in! We look forward to welcoming you in the Fall!
