Homecoming elections

The Associated Student Body’s Fall 2021 Homecoming and personality elections are coming up! Info about candidates will be on the ASB Homecoming elections page on Friday, Sept. 17.

👑 Students can vote for Mr. and Miss Ole Miss, Homecoming Queen and King, senior, junior, sophomore and freshman maids and ten campus favorites.
👑 Election day is Tuesday, Sept. 21 and students can vote from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on their MyOleMiss account under Get Involved > Vote in Student Elections. If needed, a runoff election will be Thursday, Sept. 23, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
👑 Don’t forget to walk to Union Plaza over the next few days to meet some of the candidates!
👑 Results will be announced outside of the Lyceum on Sept. 21 around 7:30 p.m., live streamed on ASB’s Facebook and posted on ASB’s social media.
👑 Winners for Homecoming King and Queen, Mr. and Miss Ole Miss and all the maids will take the field during the Homecoming game, Oct. 9 vs. Arkansas.

The classes of 2024 and 2025 are having their Rebel Run on the field this week before the Tulane game! Sign up below and email saa@olemiss.edu with questions.

Class of 2024: the panini took your moment, so go get it back. If you’re one of the first 1,000 students to RSVP, you can still do your Rebel Run this weekend! RSVP here.

Class of 2025: your Rebel Run is capped at 1,500 students, so RSVP here and get that on-the-field rush.

September is Suicide Awareness Month

The University Counseling Center wants to remind you to make your wellness a priority. Keep a balanced lifestyle by checking in with your mental health and building wellness habits, like moving your body and getting enough sleep.

If you need to talk to someone about your physical or mental health, please reach out to one of the resources on campus, like UCC, the William Magee Center or UMatter.

Operation Immunization 2021

Get your flu shot ASAP! You don’t want to be walking around with the flu and thinking you have COVID. You can get a flu shot at Operation Immunization from pharmacy students and faculty at one of the dates below, or get one from University Health Services or clinics around town. Operation Immunization flu shots are $40 and can be billed to most insurance plans. Bring your Ole Miss ID.

Grove Grocery needs volunteers! UM’s food pantry is operated by students and relies on student volunteers to help alleviate food insecurity for students and employees. Volunteers will staff Grove Grocery during operating hours, fill grocery orders, organize shelves and help with data collection. Volunteers must complete confidentiality training. On-campus residents can stream and record shows, movies and Ole Miss games through Stream2, which is available at webplayer.mystream2.com or for download from the app store on your device.

The math department is offering tutoring in the J. D. Williams Library commons, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for these math courses: Math 115, 120, 121, 123, 125, 167, 261, 262, 263, 264, 267 and 268. Some virtual tutoring is available.

RSOs: make sure you’ve signed up for an RSO orientation session and that you register your events at this link. Each RSO’s president and treasurer should attend a Student Activity Fee Funding Orientation, either Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Union Ballroom or Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m.in Union room 323.
