New provost understands crisis leadership

Marie Lynn Miranda starts as the Charles and Jill Fischer Provost of Notre Dame this Wednesday. Her appointment was announced as the University suspended in-person classes in response to coronavirus. She is no stranger to leading a university through a crisis. Miranda was the provost at Rice when Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017. (More...)

Word of Life mural receives regular maintenance

The Word of Life mural, fondly nicknamed “Touchdown Jesus”, received a touch-up this month. A masonry crew examined the iconic mosaic on the side of the Hesburgh Library to make sure all the pieces are intact and secure. Buttigieg joins Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study

Former South Bend mayor and 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg will be a 2020-21 faculty fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study working on two projects: one that explores restoring trust in political institutions one that considers the forces shaping the 2020s. (More...)

Degree conferral was virtual, but the diplomas are not

Registrar office staff recently sorted and shipped more than 3,200 diplomas to graduates. It's the first time diplomas were distributed this way. Due to the pandemic, an online degree conferral was held. Pictured left to right are Veronica Primrose, academic records representative; Rev. Supervisor receives Patriot Award the week of July 4th

Darrian Williams, a groundskeeper in Landscape Services and a member of the National Guard, right, surprised his boss, Tim Dyczko, with the Patriot Award. The award recognizes supervisors for supporting employees who serve in the National Guard. (More...)
