Dear Blakely Families,
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we navigate the twists and turns of a pandemic impacted school year. As you likely just read in the communication from BISD Superintendent, Dr. Bang-Knudsen, we will be delaying our return to the in-person Hybrid Model until January 2021.
I know that this is not an easy time to be an educator, an educational leader, a parent or a student! We are all trying our very best and it is okay to acknowledge that at times, this is all just really very difficult.
I apologize that the survey sent out last week caused confusion for many families. That of course was not the intent, but I understand that was likely the impact. I received many emails and voicemails directly related to questions or concerns about our return to the Hybrid Model. Please reach out if I have not yet had a chance to get back to you and you would like to touch base further.
Also, please know that I have received a great deal of feedback that more information regarding the hybrid model is needed. Over the next few weeks, I will be providing additional information about this model, as well as some answers and explanations to the most common questions. My hope is that this information will be helpful, regardless of return date.
Thank you for your continued engagement, advocacy, flexibility and support and we navigate through a very dynamic situation. My number one priority continues to be the overall health and wellbeing of our Blakely students. When I get overwhelmed about all that I cannot control in these crazy times, I picture the faces of our Blakely students, and remember my commitment to each of them, and to our entire Blakely community. Regardless of where school is taking place, I want our students to feel safe, happy and supported. In the midst of the uncertainty, I know that this is still our collective goal, and am reassured that we are all working together on behalf of our Blakely students.
Take good care,
