New STS Courses for AY22/23
WinterSTS 156: The Future Of Global Systemic Risk This course investigates the data, methods, and insights mobilized by key actors such as corporations, governments, and academics to assess systemic risk, create future scenarios, and generate predictions.This year, the course will focus on combined risks from the environmental, health, and emerging tech domains.
SpringSTS 158: The Science and Politics of Apocalypse This course examines how expectations surrounding the end of the world, and the role that human beings might play in bringing it about, have transformed over the last two centuries. After a brief look at traditional religious apocalypticism, we explore how apocalypse came to be reconsidered as an entirely this-worldly phenomenon that falls within human power to achieve and demands political attention.

Circulation Student Assistant at Stanford Libraries
The circulation student assistant will work at the main circulation desk and/or at the Media circulation desk in Green Library. This position is open to students who are Federal Work Study eligible. Expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Charge, renew, and discharge library materials.
- Handle customer service situations in a professional manner and refer the patron to a supervisor as appropriate.
- Utilize Workflows (the library system) to research online circulation records for patrons and materials.
- Shelve library materials, including patron holds and course reserves.

Tom Ford Fellowship in Philanthropy 2023-24
The Tom Ford Fellowship in Philanthropy was created in 2001 to provide young professionals with intensive, mentored experiences in domestic foundations in order to educate Stanford graduates about the role of philanthropy in society and encourage them to enter the field. Work with a community, private, or corporate grantmaking foundation of your choice. Previous fellows have worked at the MacArthur Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and more!
