Make a Difference Day 2021!

Make a Difference Day is a national day of service, recognized on campuses and in communities across the country.
Join GVSU on Saturday, October 16th from 11am-2:30pm as we celebrate this national day of service! Registration for participants closes on October 8th.

We are now accepting applications for our Make A Difference Day site leaders.This is a great leadership opportunity! Registration for site leaders closes October 1st.

National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is a national civic holiday that is annually held every fourth Tuesday of September. Register to vote with partners from the MI Secretary of State and Allendale Township Clerk! 
Date: Tuesday September 28th from 11am-4pm

Democracy 101

FALL 2021: DOING DEMOCRACY IN OUR COMMUNITIES
Join us this fall for our expanded version of Democracy 101 in partnership with the Cook Leadership Academy and Padnos-Sarosik Center for Civil Discourse. Each session will have a presentation component that focuses on education about the topic and how it impacts not only our community, but communities across the country. The second half will hold space for a student-led dialogue about the topic. 
Date: September 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Topic: Doing Democracy through Student Voting: MI Voter Engagement

ArtPrize is Back and Looking for Volunteers!

ArtPrize is one of the largest independently organized art events in the world, it is an 18-day celebration of creativity, connection, and community in a one-of-a-kind experience. They need your help and support! It happens throughout the whole day and is located in local downtown Grand Rapids. You are able to volunteer individually, as a group, or as an organization!

Decorate Brown Bags for Kids Food Basket

Brown Bag Decorating Day is a perfect way for you to use your creative skills to create a positive change for the kids in your community ! Inside of each decorated brown paper bag will be a nutritious, ready to-eat meal delivered right to a child’s school or a distribution site, ensuring children have access the healthy food they need to thrive. Kids Food Basket hosts this event and they are in need of as much help they can recieve to reach their goal of 150,000 bags. Come stop in room 1108 in KC to pick up a brown paper bag to decorate, bags are due back in KC by September 30th.

Michigan Student Voter Summit

The Michigan Student Voter Summit invites all participants to come together for a day of civic learning and reflection! Campus Vote Project and Michigan's Independent Citizens Redistricting Comission office are pleased to be able to put on this virtual event!
